Amber

Amber is the fossilized resin of ancient trees. True amber comes from trees which lived 85 to 100 million years ago. Fossilized resin from more recent times is called "copal".

Amber often holds the remains of pollen or insects. many other things can also be inclusions in amber - from inorganic substances, such as sulfur or pyrite, to wood, bark, flies, ants and even lizards.

Amber is very easily polished and is used for jewelry.
