Ancient Species
Molluscs
Molluscs are animals with shells. Today the most important groups are the grastopods, such as snails and sea slugs, and the bivalves, such as clams, mussels, oysters and scallops.

But the number of fossils indicates that in the past, the most numerous group was the cephalopods which includes the nautilus, ammonites, squids and cuttlefish.
